I made this cake a couple of weeks ago. Hairy Maclary is a series of childrens books which I absolutely love! My kids love them too (lol) I could probably recite half the series without even opening a book as I have read them (to my children – mostly) a thousand times!

The customer wanted a 3D cake but the books are all drawn in 2D effect so we compromised and I made this pop up style book – all the pop up pieces are hand painted gumpaste.
