This very regular client said that this is her daughter’s last major ‘childhood cake’ so she wanted the cake to be super special and personalized! Her daughter is a provincial Hip hop dancer and she loves her phone and Instagramming.

The client told her daughter that she wouldn’t have time to make her a cake and when her daughter said, ‘Ask Chef Sam’, she said that I was already fully booked! (Cruel???) So on the day they came to collect, she told her daughter that I could manage to make some basic cupcakes for her!
When the girl saw her cake, her face lit up and she had tears in her eyes. She hugged her mom and she hugged me (3 times!) Shame, she was so happy! What a nice feeling to have someone so happy over a cake!!
Especially a cake so difficult to make!! I made all my own paper templates for the shoes, but I still found it extremely difficult to get them (more or less) the same! Making a PAIR of shoes is no joke! Set on an 8 inch cake.
