This is my spin on the very popular Rapunzel/Tangled cake. The cake was the request of an adorable 5 year old girl who loves all things Rapunzel. I spent many hours looking at photos of Disney World’s new tower in the Magic Kingdom. I used the new tower as inspiration, as well as the incredible cake by Emma Ball from Richard’s cake for Cake International – Manchester 2013.
The top of the tower is Styrofoam to keep the top from being top heavy, the base of the tower was made from RKT, which I used to give me the texture of stone through the fondant. The green hill was a whole ton of vanilla with milk chocolate ganache under the fondant. The best part was seeing the little one’s reaction (and her mom’s), makes it all worthwhile!
