I made this cake for my fiancé’s 30th birthday yesterday, we often go skiing to the 3 valleys in France which gave me the inspiration for this cake. This is my first ever big cake so I was very nervous and it is a bit rough around the edges but I am so happy with how it has turned out. It is a lemon madeira cake with a strawberry jam and amaretto buttercream filling. the slope is made of moulded rice crispy treat mixture and all the decorations are flower paste and ready to roll icing.
My business usually consists of making homemade chocolate truffles, decorated shortbread biscuits and cupcakes but after doing a cake decorating course last year I thought I would take the chance on making his cake myself. I hope you all love it as much as him and I do.
