Finally getting around to posting my entry for last week’s cake competition during the Delaware Capital Region Bridal Showcase. It took first place, I was soooo happy :-)! For all my cakers if you are familiar with Emma Jayne Cake Design, you can tell I was thoroughly influenced by her work. I sculpted the heart cake on top from a 6 inch square, (that inspiration came from the infamous Colette Peters). I went for a sculpted tapered design to give it a whimsical feel, however kept the overall color scheme white for a wedding feel (the photo looks ivory, however it was white). Contest rules required that the design be all cake (no Styrofoam, or inedible materials allowed). Sugar roses, pearlized sanding sugar, dragees, and sugar pearls complete the look for this three tiered creation. Thanks for looking. By the way…….I’m still smiling :-)!!!!!!!
