This cake was the first big one I ever made.It’s July in Greece and the temperature has soared to 42 C…all night the air-conditioning was on to keep a steady temperature at home.It was a very special cake since there had been a loss in the family just 10 months before and the bride requested soft colors and…birds!The groom worked for the Ornithological Society of Greece and actually the wedding took place where he worked,in a beautiful park full of birds and small ponds.Nobody believed that the flowers were sugar and only the ones who approached realized it.It took me 2 weeks to prepare it slowly since I am an English teacher ..this is not my job but rather the love of my life.I designed the cake first, showed it to her and then proceeded with the wired flowers.Since then I have made only common cakes.Waiting for the next wedding in the family.
