I love this cake. It is actually the same type my brother wants for his wedding. Any suggestions or tips? What kind of stand did you use?

Thanks! It’s always intimidated me, but finally said yes to doing it.
Just make sure your fondant is soft when doing the pleats so that it doesn’t crack when going over the top, and mark where the pleats will go, so that it’s as symmetrical as possible. Other than that, it wasn’t that difficult at all.
Didn’t use a stand, the bride just wanted it placed on a glass table.

Was the cake stacked together with pillars? I have been trying to figure out how to do the pleats in that direction.

I used 2×2cm polystyrene rounds and dowelled through into the cake, this gave adequate space for the flowers. The pleats are exactly the same as we usually do them, it’s just positioned differently. Start from the inside, working out. I did the middle 1st and then each pleat as a pair, don’t try doing all the ones on the left or right first, it looked a bit wonky when I practised it that way.

Are the pleats just in the front or the back as well? Where did you get your rhinestone boarder?
