I made this cake for a friend whose daughter wanted a Bermese Python for her bithday. Mom wasn’t so excited about a real snake, but she had seen the amazing Bermese Python cake made by North Star Cakes (www.NorthStarCakes.co.uk). She asked me to make her daughter a python cake for her birthday. So here is MY Bermese Python cake inspired by the brilliant North Star Cakes! The snake is part Aussie mud cake with vanilla buttercream and part rice crispies treats. It is covered in a 50/50 mix of fondant and modeling chocolate. I used a plastic flourescent light cover to create the diamond skin pattern. The tree is PVC pipe and wire covered in modeling chocolate with gumpaste leaves.
