Chloe's castle

Chloe's castle

I made this cake for the Chloe Parkes Pink Ball fundraiser being held today, 3 November. Chloe is a local girl who is suffering from brain cancer, Medulloblastoma. she has been very very poorly. wShe is due to have her next operation on Monday and is fighting hard to get well again. Her dream is to swim with dolphins, so fundraising is taking place to help make that dream a reality.

The cake is 3 tiers. The bottom is a Valencian orange sponge, with apricot conserve. The middle tier is Madagascan vanilla with raspberry, and the top is a plain vanilla. I have used vanilla buttercream and finished with sugarpaste. It is following a Rapunzel theme, but I like to think it is Chloe peeping out of the window in the highest turret. The turrets are finished with lovely white hologram glitter, which sparkled beautifully under the lights when I set the cake up at the venue earlier this evening.

The cake will be a prize in a guess the weight competition tonight. I hope that Chloe loves it, and that it helps raise lots of money to enable Chloe to have the holiday she so deserves.

If you would like to know more about Chloe’s fight, and to help her achieve her little dream, please donate at http://www.justgiving.com/Chloeparkesappeal
Thank you
