This cake had a bunch of “firsts” for me. First Fondant cake board. First handpainting (the entire fish and cake board are all handpainted). First time using Chocolate Ganache. First time making a Fish. It worked out better than I could have hoped.
Vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream covered with White Chocolate ganache and then covered with MMF.
Using chocolate ganache underneath the fondant allowed me to carve out the gills and mouth and get a crisp edge once the fondant was placed overtop.
I was so excited with the results!
