My name is Yemika Parkhurst, I’m from Puerto Rico. I dedicate myself to making Cakes is my passion, but it is the first time that I participate in a Challenge.
Humbly my inspiration comes from my Island of Puerto Rico charm, it is very common to ask for a Mofongo (green or yellow fried plantain, dipped in a pilon), this is added garlic and butter to give taste and texture to the banana, with the meat that more like inside. Everything was made of Pastel do not use any dummies.
For my dish I used Satin Ice fondant and Gumpaste for the rest of the details, the mofongo only added color to the cake to give it realism.
I take this opportunity to thank Gerardo Zarco and Maria Lagarma for the opportunity to participate, leave my limits of confidence and dare to realize this challenge.
