A very seasonally suited wedding cake for Lucy and Tom, who got married on a very sunny Good Friday at Rudding Park in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

I can’t take credit for the idea of a decorated Easter egg on a cake – Lucy had a very clear idea of the design she wanted, hopefully I did her ideas justice! As you’d expect from an Easter cake, it is three tiers of rich chocolate cake. A crown of fresh gypsophila around the base finished it off.

Loved decorating this cake – I found the repetition of piping the multiple dots very therapeutic – however, I’ll be happy not to cover a large egg shape again!
