Today is my precious mother-in-law’s 75th birthday! I’ve been dying to make a geode cake, so I thought how cool it would be to make one with her birthstone featured on it. I’ve seen many geode cake but I haven’t seen very many that were combined with flowers and kind of a rustic woodland look.
I made the geodes following both the Sugar Geek Show and Viki Kane’s tutorials—-highly recommend both! I inserted an LED light behind the geode topper to give it a beautiful glow.
Top tier is chocolate peanut butter cake with peanut butter cup filling. Middle tier is Banana Pudding cake complete with Nilla wafers. And the bottom tier is Pecan Praline with Salted Caramel buttercream filling.
It was all delicious! LOL!
