This was a cake a made for my Mother’s 80th birthday. It was a labor of love. I travelled to Florida to study with Giovanna Smith of The Sugar Art Studio to learn how to make sugar dahlias – they are my mother’s favorite flower.

You did a fabulous job, June and I know your mom was thrilled! I am glad you included a close up of your dahlia. Had you not said otherwise, I would have thought you used real flowers!
