Inspired by the very talented Amy Brown Fantasy Art’s painting of the same name, this cake was fun to make and a massive learning project. In hindsight I should have kept the background simple and plain like the original picture. But i wanted to have a bit more on the cake and more than that, I wanted to try out some new techniques I had learnt. However, ‘realistic’ painting is clearly not my forte.
The ‘window’ and fireplace scene were first piped entirely in Royal icing and then painted.
