This 4 tier dummy cake was made for a wedding show. It is covered in white fondant and sugar crystals and silver sprinkles that I mixed together and pressed on after I brushed the fondant with corn syrup.
The two “fantasy” flowers were made using gumpaste and several sizes of 5 petal cookie cutters. I dried each layer for 24 hours and then dusted them with irridescent lilac colored petal dust and assembled them. The center is black fondant.
The second tier of the cake was left without the sugar/sprinkles and instead decorated with a band of black fondant adorned with varying sizes and colors of candy pearls and silver dragees.
Finally I piped the edge of each cake with a royal icing bead border.
