In celebration of Singapore’s Golden Jubilee, a group of bakers (professional and hobbyists) came together (virtually) to make birthday cakes in an online collaboration started by Nicholas Ang of The White Ombre.

Here is my contribution to this wonderful collaboration :)

My SG50 (the national logo for the golden Jubilee celebration) cake balances on a single star, to remind us that we should not forget that it took alot of hard work to make Singapore what it is today, a delicate balancing act.

The base cakes which the star sits on are the two colours of our national flag and to me this represents the efforts of our pioneer generation who had worked hard to build this wonderful city state that we now call home.

Stars can be found in our flag too, so what better way than to link the two elements together than with a star. As celebrate our Golden Jubiliee, here’s hoping that the wishes of everyone can come true as head towards the next 50 years!
