So I was asked to create a classic car for a wedding, it didn’t have to be any particular model, just obviously vintage, so that made things a whole lot easier for me. Having made several car cakes in the past and struggling with and hating every one of them I turned to a PBSS tutorial to help me out with this one. My couple were having their ceremony and reception at Haynes International Motor Museum so I needed it to be impressive and look good!
It was pretty big, measuring 17" long and made to provide 50 servings. All lemon sponge with lemon buttercream.
I’m told it went down a storm, both with the guests AND the museum (for whom, strangely, this was their first car wedding cake!) so that was a major relief for me!
