I just LOVE this look! The couple is getting married on a gorgeous ranch here in Texas, so they wanted a country, rustic theme to match the fun casual ceremony. She sent me a picture of one of Liz Marek’s awesome Birch cakes for inspiration & I was THRILLED. I think they are just gorgeous. She wanted a soft neutral tone, not gray or dark, so I used shades of brown to paint the bark instead of black.

I hand-made the roses & magnolias, but the rest of the leaves & succulents are silks, to stay within their budget. The entire cake is my Southern Italian Cream cake with the traditional cream cheese filling. White chocolate ganache, & hand-painted fondant decor.
