This cake came about because of my love for all things Fairytale :) I wanted to try hand painting on a cake and thought that it would work perfectly as part of a fairytale creation. I love any kind of red on a cake and most especially when it is contrasted with dark/gloomy colours. To create the painted effect I used gel food colours and piping gel. It took some time to dry however, it gave it such a wonderful rich texture.
