A cute little bug cake with a littlest pet shop inspired snail sugar topper. This was my first time ‘painting’ on a cake (the grass trim) and it was so much fun – I am looking forward to doing something a little more detailed next time. The ladybirds were completely edible as I found a great tip online on how to dye those super thin rice noodles which I thought was a FAB idea as I’m always afraid of putting inedible items on a kids cake (like plastic stamen, etc). Of course I couldn’t resist where the bees were concerned as I thought the coiled wire looks like so much fun. The bubba ladybird following it’s mum is my favourite detail.
As for the cake, it was buttermilk vanilla with Oreo SMBC and iced in american BC before final fondant cover. Thanks for looking!
