The texture on the cake was inspired by a trip I made to Bali, many, many moons ago before cameras were built into mobile phones. I happened to see a garden wall being built by a man that I would call a clay artist……who was most amused that this Australia lady had asked permission to watch him work ))).

The sugar magnolias are inspired by these amazing plants that grow so prolifically in my previous home of Western Australia.
