I’m so pleased to share with you a remake of a cake I did last month for my MIL’s 90th birthday. I was unable to take photos at the time and I so love the look of the antique sewing machine that I decided to give it another go. The whole cake is in the detail photos. The sewing machine is made from RKT and modelling chocolate covered with ganache and fondant. The table top is distressed fondant painted with diluted gel colors. The embellishments were made with Mexican paste, the flowers are gum paste and the lace was made with Sugar Dress.
The original sewing machine design is from Zoe Clark. Detailed instructions can be found in her beautiful book, Chic & Unique Vintage Cakes. I hope you enjoy it.
