House of Anubis Cake

This is one of several cakes I was asked by a friend to make over the past couple of weeks. The theme was “House of Anubis”, her daughters favorite TV show. I had no idea what it was about and there was very little inspiration available! The book and pendant were inspired by elements of the show. The book is rice cereal treat and modeling chocolate and the pendant is gumpaste. The cake was stenciled to mimic the gray on gray of the show’s website background and the black trees were piped on (and textured with a paint brush) to mimic the shadowy trees on the website and the forest that surrounds the school where the show takes place.
