This year my mother-in-law Katrina turned 60. In all her life she has always made do with bare minimum, so I went all out and surprised her with a Surprise birthday party and with this very beautiful 3 tier cake which matched the colours of the invitations.

This cake consisted of bottom tier 10″×3″ fruit decorated with ruffled roses and painted gold on the tip, middle tier was a gluten free chocolate mud cake 8″×4″ Vienna icing airbrushed green and blue cascading up, purple ribbon and gold pearls which I had to hand paint with 3 coatings. Monogram letter K was also airbrushed with the green to blue to purple with gold trim. The top tier was a white choc mud 6″×4″ Vienna icing and was also airbrushed with blue to purple with gold Serenity cake lace and the gold pearls wrapped around. Handmade the blue rose and it also had the gold edging. The 60 was airbrushed the same as the letter K. The cake board was also airbrushed with purple to blue to green blending towards the cake.

As this was for family I never charged for it and have been asked for future reference how much would I charge for something like this if I had to do it again. I put it through my cakeulator app and it gave me a quote of $850, So if any of you are able to give me some advice how correct this would be it would be greatly appreciated.
