The brief was for a gingerbread and doughnut themed wedding cake incorporating the vows and giving a passing nod to the Bride’s German roots…..
I think I managed that, although it is certainly one of the most unusual cakes I have done

Bottom tier is Chocolate fudge cake, middle is Lemon drizzle, top is vanilla sponge – the doughnuts are baked ones and the gingerbread decorations are made from fondant that I spiced and coloured using ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves – it made the room smell amazing!
