I can’t believe that I actually made a wedding cake. This was my gift to the bride (my daughter’s best friend) & groom. Her favorite flowers are cherry blossoms which is what she had on the invitations. When she told me what flowers and that her decor was going to be mint green, I came up with this and she loved the idea. The fondant didn’t want to cooperate yesterday due to the heat so it was not the easiest cake I ever made but in the end I think it looks good and I’m very happy with it. Most importantly, the bride & groom were happy with it. Not sure if I ever want to make another wedding cake though. Have to give all of you who do this regularly a lot of credit. A big thank you goes out to Calli not only for her wonderful tutorial but for inspiring me with her gorgeous cherry blossom cake and also for Melinart for her vase tutorial. A big thank you also goes out to all of you. Your amazing cakes are a real inspiration to me.

I love it Goreti!… and if I hadn’t seen your earlier post with the cherry blossoms, I would have though you had used fresh flowers!

It’s just beautiful Goreti. And with all the trouble you had…the fondant looks lovely & smooth. Vase is so, so pretty. Is it gumpaste?And your flowers are just magnificent!!! I’m sure the B & G were thrilled. Nerve wracking getting the cake there, eh?? I’ haven’t done a ton of weddings…just 7 ( so far ) , and I was always a little nervous each time on delivery & set up.

Well I love it Goreti! The design is so perfect for the brief you got. I adore your cherry blossoms and yes they look so real. I am dying to try Calli’s tutorial and even had ordered her magazine from my cake supply place but now they are out of stock =(. I will probably have to try a digital copy like you did. Overall for your first wedding cake, I am super impressed!
