My brother phoned me last week and asked me to make a cake for a friend of his who was going to visit the Outer Banks of N.C. He said she had been having a hard time. She has had breast cancer, and now it has gone into her brain. I didn’t get to see the woman’s face when she saw the cake, but when I handed it to her mother, her hands started shaking and she started choking up. She noticed the Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Ribbon on the Mermaid. My brother asked specifically, that I make sure there was a pink ribbon some where on the cake.
