I made this cake for a cakey friend of mine!
She is Indian and she loves Steampunk and bright colours.
I thought I would do the octopus to bring in the nautical element of Steampunk and also to symbolize her and her many talents/ loves.
In her 2 hands are the most important, her 3 kids and her husband.
On the 8 tentacles, there is: cake decorating, gardening, sewing, music, reading, cooking, painting and travel.
The bodice of the figurine is made to look like a dressmaking dummy to symbolize her seamstress background.
The actual cake is partially dugout and filled with cogs and wheels to show the inner workings of a calm and beautiful exterior.
I loved making this cake, as Steampunk is one of my favourite themes too!
I hope you like it! :) xx
