This was the my last wedding cake of 2013. The cake was based off a photo the bride brought in, but I don’t know the original designer. Everything on the cake is hand made. I made the peonies using a gumpaste/fondant mixture so I could get those petals nice and thin.

Jennifer, this is an amazing cake !!! And I am sure it was not at all easy making those one-piece ruffles :-)

Thanks all! @miettes – It was a little time consuming, but not terribly bad. I just cut odd sized shapes (think half of an oval shape) and then frilled and ruffled the curved edge with a large ball tool on a large cel pad. The flowers are what took forever!! ;-)
