Wow, was this ever a project! Possibly the most challenging I’ve attempted thus far :) Wedding cake and grooms cake for a fireman’s wedding! The Bride-to-be picked out a design originally done by Pink Cake Box and this was my attempt at doing it some sort of justice. Top tier of wedding cake was fresh strawberry cake with chocolate ganache filling, middle tier was fresh peach cake with vanilla bean cream cheese filling, bottom tier was brown sugar cake with key lime curd filling (to represent Key West where they were engaged!), all covered in fondant with tangerine and hot pink fondant ribbons. The firetruck grooms cake was chocolate cake with cherry buttercream filling, covered in fondant with all fondant details. The bride and groom were hand formed with a fondant/gum paste mixture – quite pleased they turned out as well as they did! :)
