Bake a Christmas Wish was born from the brilliant idea by the incredible Samantha Emerson (from www.cupcaketopia.co.uk), with the help of Liszi McLean from Buntys Bakery, who wanted to put a collaboration together raise money for terminally ill children through Make-a-Wish-Foundation-UK Chapter. Let’s put a smile on those children’s faces and raise money by purchasing tutorials (gracefully offered by all the bakers) and raffle tickets. Please go to Bake a Christmas Wish page and buy one or all of the tutorials. They are so worth it :-)
The theme was Christmas movies with bakers making scenes or characters from their chosen movies in an edible medium. I chose “The Polar Express” because I felt it really had a message to convey. “Seeing is believing” was my favorite quote from movie. Seeing how much I loved frills, I had to incorporate them into my piece, so the frilled cake is my interpretation of Santa (red and white for Santa’s suit with a black ribbon representing his belt).
I am also very honored to have my piece featured in the current issue of Cake Masters (December 2013).
Christmas is the season of giving, loving, helping, sharing!
It is the time for putting a smile on a child’s face!
It is the time for believing in the Christmas spirit!
