I am a mum of 3 children under 6, for whom I have happily given up my career in education. Now I don't have lessons to plan and memos to write, I have been learning some new skills, my favourite of all being cake making and decorating. After a disastrous debacle with a Barbie cake for my daughter's 4th birthday, I was lucky enough to attend a basic decorating skills course with the lovely Laura at Cocochoux: www.cocochoux.co.uk/, which really helped to give me the confidence to continue to make my children's birthday cakes without fear of failure! During the last year, I have improved and learned so much, but have only really produced one cake I am completely happy with. I am hoping to learn heaps from the more experienced folk on this site, but am slightly nervous of showing the photos of my cakes here, as they are certainly not up to the standard and level of complexity being produced by other users!!
