re: Amazing 3D Printed Sugar technique

I’m slightly on the fence with this one. On one hand it could take cake decorating to a whole new level with the exactness, precision and complicated detail that we may never be able to achieve and on top of that, at a fraction of the time. You think the possibilities are endless now, imagine it with a 3D printer.

On the other hand, we produce pieces of art: “The expression or application of human creative skill and imagination” there is no room in that definition for ‘machinery’. It will take away the preciousness of a cake, the hard work, the sleepless nights and that great feeling of gratitude and it all being worth it because a machine printed it out. This is just the start, what’s stopping them from printing a cake that actually tastes good one day?

Technology is great, but it’s also killing a lot of things.
