Hi Jazz
I use TruColor natural airbrush colors (mixed with a bit of water) and I paint them on with a brush rather than using the airbrush for pretty much the same reasons as you :) I also use Magic color edible gold dust that I also paint on after mixing with lemon or orange extract.
