re: Fondant or sugarpaste??

Hi GGirl,I’m not too far away from you, down the track in Bedford! Good luck with your business. You’ll find everyone has their preferred brand to work with. Like fantasyfancies says, fondant is too soft generally to make decorations or roll thin enough.I just use it for covering cakes.I use Saracino modelling paste for all my models and decorations.I buy it in 1 kg tubs and it’s fantastic. It’s hard when you get it out of the tub,but really pliable once kneeded.you can roll it really thin for delicate sugar flowers. You can mix it 50/50 with fondant/sugarpaste to make models, etc.Hope this helps.i’m self taught too-everything is trial and quite a few errors, lol! Zoe’s Fancy Cakes is indeed fab for free, easy to follow tutorials or Crumb Avenue is brill too.x
