re: Cake mailed from Westport MA to Austin TX

I’m not sure I would have the nerve to mail it if it was for a paying customer. As far as how I did it: This was a 6 inch cake placed on an 8 in board. After decorating, I wrapped it really well with plastic wrap and then loosely with freezer paper & placed it in the freezer. The day I mailed it, I took it out of the freezer & removed the freezer paper. Wrapped it really well with bubble wrap. Last year (I think this is important) I placed the cake in a box just the size of the cake & make sure there was no room so it would not move. This year I didn’t do that because I had to make another handle after the 1st one broke and placed it well protected in the box as well as some biscotti that I had made for him. Even though I thought there was no wiggle room I think there may have been some movement. I thought about it but did not have a box the size I needed so I figured I would leave it this way.
