Wow guys! I just woke up to get your gorgeous comments and to see you’ve pushed my cake into the top 3. Thank you all so much. Talk about making my week. Shawna and Happy about the dragees I must admit I couldn’t find a faster method than trying to get a couple on at a time. I tried grabbing a small handful and pushing them on but then the gaps it left took longer to fill than if I’d done them individually. Also as I wasn’t covering the whole thing I had to be careful about where the top line fell. The best tips I were given (total common sense but something I wouldn’t have done on my own) was to work with the fondant as soon as I’d covered it and use just a little edible glue AND put a towel underneath the cake to help stop runaways.
