June, I think that the problem with using lemon oil rather than alcohol is that it won’t evaporate quickly and therefore because of the added liquid it might change the consistency of the sugar paste when added to it. I’ve never tried it. Just a thought. I add just a couple of drops of tap water to the Trucolors that I use. No need for alcohol or anything else.
