@Sarah – You should try making them, if only once. I’m sure there are better ways to make them. I made my petals super thin, and each full-sized flower has over 100 petals in it!
@Beata – Just reread your comment about the cracking tiers. You may want to provide more dowels / straws (support) for your tiers. The cake underneath should never really bear any of the weight of the cake above. A center / master dowel that runs through the entire length of the cake should help with stability too!
