First, the lace imprint mat is one that was within my fabric imprint mat set. i don’t even have the packaging any more to check where i got it since it was ages ago.
As for the front of the shoe…i carved it out from under the board it was on but i did have some support. other experiences i’ve done with carving, i would say carve the minimalist amoutn you want to get your effect and then crumb coat and chill before covering with icing or fondant. if it’s crumb coated well and set, it shouldn’t crack however, i did choose to support it!
