Day at the Beach Anniversary Cake

I had the great pleasure of making this anniversary cake for our neighbors and very dear friends :) They have the sweetest little cottage at the beach and I thought nothing could be more fitting than to have this little piece of what they love so very much for their anniversary! Lemon pound cake with vanilla buttercream filling and icing. I hand cut the adirondack chairs out of gum paste and “glued” them together using royal icing. The fence was made out of slats of gum paste and very thin wire. The shells were fondant brushed with pearl luster dust. The “sand” was crushed graham cracker crumbs – loved making the little heart :)
