I made this cake for my granddaughter’s 4th birthday. Nothing girlie here but she loved it and just what she asked for. I used cakes I saw here as a guide and a playset I purchased as well which showed pirate island. The rest I made up. The base is a 3 layer white cake filled with my first attempt at pastry cream. The ship is cereal treat with fudge covered wafer cookies, modeling chocolate, a supersize peanut butter cup for crow’s nest, etc. The island is cake I baked in my large 8 cup glass measuring cup.
