Elegance with Roses
This was an engagement cake I was asked to make. Alicia was the most beautiful young lady and so easy to work with. When she came to pick up the cake she tried to give me an additional $50 because it was better than she had ever hoped for. These roses were made with Satin Ice gumpaste, since then our sugar flower Guru Christine Craig has put me onto Platinum paste for flowers, and all I can say is omg what a difference now I can’t wait to try a rose using the platinum. The bottom tier was 10" by 5" high the top was 8 " by 5" It weighed a massive 7kg (15.5 pound)before it was covered in fondant.
I read yesterday when the gorgeous Sarah Clark from the Cake Tin was commenting how Jo and Pauline helped her with input into her amazing minion cake (if you havent seen it check it out now, Number one on decor) I personally have had some amazing people help me over my cake journey this last 12 months and some amazing support, the only sad part is that I would love to meet each and everyone of you but probably never will. But …..I appreciate your support, encouragement and friendship more than I could ever put into words.
