Mount Everest Cake

This cake was done for a lawyer who is doing a “Seven Summits” challenge to raise money for The Cayman Islands Cancer Society, http://www.facebook.com/pages/Seven-Summits-Challenge/438054069600620?ref=ts&fref=ts.
His firm commissioned this cake in honour of his successful climb to summit of Mount Everest. He is only the second resident of the Cayman Islands accomplish this amazing feat. I wish him a speedy recovery from frost bite and success in his future endevours.
The cake is a rich chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and chocolate buttercream, fondant finish with royal icing details.

Lori-Ann, amazing cake for a great cause. I think my son would love this, even though he is only 12, he is an avid hiker and hopes one day to climb Mount Everest :-)

Lori-Ann, thanks for the encouragement; we “pushed” him when he was 6 years old and since, he loves hiking and we do hike at 8000+ feet :-)
