Biker's Milestone Birthday Cake

This is a 40th birthday cake for a man who loves to ride his road bike. The bike, jersey, helmet were all patterned after his actual stuff.

And oh, his age … (which the celebrant tried to conceal) is an actual Pi formula I had to come up with! :)

Absolutely! This is just gumpaste, reinforced with tylose because I did not use any wires, the gumpaste had to dry really, really hard. I printed out a photo of the bike and just followed the pattern … let it try and then painted the details.

The mini bicycles around the cake are made out of royal icing. It doesn’t show on the picture but this order came with cupcakes and I used those for cupcake toppers too. :)
