This cake was a 6" strawberry cake with vanilla swiss meringue buttercream. Fondant covered cake with ombre ruffle “belt” design set with an offset heart. Cake was for a giveaway at a local children’s boutique so the ruffle-bottom diaper covers were my inspiration for this one……..though I think it kind of ended up looking like a garter. Either way, I still liked how it came out. :)

I love this! Saw it on your FB cake and it is beautiful and different. Have to try those ruffles some time. Do you use straight fondant or a mix for the ruffles?

I used straight fondant for this one. I’m going to work on a tutorial sometime soon but its not really too difficult…just time consuming. :)
