I made this cute little owl for my daughter’s teacher’s birthday. And of course I also had to make 25 little owl cake pops for the students! The owl was carved from a six in chocolate cake that was cut in half and stacked four layers high. A dowel through the center kept it intact. And the whole thing was covered in chocolate ganache then fondant. The cake pops are two designs—one for boys and one for girls. The teacher owl in the middle shares colors with both. I used impression mats to give texture to the different cut out pieces of fondant. This teacher loves owls and has them all over her classroom decor. The cake pops are molded, dipped in candy melts and then adorned with cut pieces of fondant. The eyes are Wilton candy eyes. Thanks for looking!
