We have great neighbours and they asked me to make birthday cake and cupcakes for their daughter who just turned 1. The design for the cake was inspired by Royal Bakery. I used their tutorial for the hat and bow.

Thanks Kate. The birthday cake was an inspired cake by Lesley at the Royal Bakery. Actually I used her tutorial. It was for a neighbour who asked if I would make the cupcakes which was all ok for me then they asked me very nicely to make a birthday cake which I don’t normally do for people outside of family but they are such good neighbours and they got me at a weak moment so I agreed. I’m not the greatest at covering cakes with fondant, I was quite pleased with this effort.
