Ipad

I made this cake for a friend’s son, as he reached 50 years old. He is mad about his iPad. I was told that he is “in denial” about his age, and would not like any big messages declaring it! So, happy birthday Stephen is still there, but discreetly written on the icons of the iPad screen. The cake is a dark chocolate velvet sponge, filled with chocolate buttercream and black cherry conserve, and covered in fondant. The cake is the box on the bottom. The iPad was made using pastillage.
